These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Misd, including our app, features, content, communications, and related services. By creating an account, accessing the app, or using Misd, you agree to these terms.
Acceptance of Terms
1. These terms form a binding agreement between you and Misd regarding your use of the service.
2. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not create an account or use Misd.
3. By continuing to use Misd after updates take effect, you agree to the revised terms to the extent permitted by law.
Using Misd means agreeing to the rules that keep the service working, safe, and fair for everyone. If we make meaningful changes later, we want those changes to be clear and current, not buried or outdated.
Eligibility and Account Registration
1. You must be at least 17 years old to use Misd, or older if the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction is higher, and you must provide truthful, current, and complete registration information.
2. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials, your device access, and your account activity.
3. We may refuse registration, restrict access, or suspend accounts where information is materially inaccurate, misleading, abusive, fraudulent, or otherwise inconsistent with these terms or applicable law.
We ask for enough information to set up a real account and keep the app secure. We are not trying to make signup heavier than it needs to be, but we do need users to be honest about who they are and whether they are eligible to use the service.
Invite-Only Launch, Waitlist, and Access
1. During invite-only, waitlist, rolling-access, staged-release, or other limited-access periods, Misd may approve, deny, revoke, delay, or condition access at its discretion.
2. Invite codes, waitlist access, referral access, and similar access tools are operational or promotional mechanisms and do not guarantee admission, continued access, or future availability.
3. We may associate an invite, access pathway, referral source, or similar enrollment method with an email address, account, or other account information for operational, community, anti-abuse, or security purposes.
Invite-based access is how we can open Misd carefully instead of all at once. It helps us grow in a way that feels intentional without pretending every person can or should enter at the exact same moment.
Profiles, Passport, and Account Features
1. Misd may let you create a profile, upload a profile image, configure your Passport, choose profile visibility settings, and manage other account-related controls inside the service.
2. You are responsible for the information, images, and visibility settings you choose to provide or display through your account.
3. We may use account and profile information to authenticate users, personalize the service, support discovery and social features, and operate profile-, map-, and connection-related functionality.
You control a meaningful part of what appears on your profile and Passport. Some information helps the app function socially, but you still get a real say in how much of it is shown.
User Content, Messages, and Social Features
1. Misd may allow you to create, upload, publish, send, receive, share, comment on, or otherwise interact with user-generated content, including profile content, posts, links, media, messages, and comments.
2. You retain responsibility for content you submit and represent that you have the rights necessary to provide that content and permit its use within the service.
3. By submitting content to Misd, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt, display, transmit, and distribute that content as reasonably necessary to operate, improve, secure, review, moderate, and promote the service.
If someone posts or sends something through Misd, they still own what is theirs, but the app needs permission to handle that content so the feature can actually work. That includes basic things like storing it, showing it to the intended audience, and reviewing it when safety issues come up.
Location, Moments, and Privacy Features
1. Misd may offer location-aware features, map-based features, Moments features, and features that let users designate certain places or account surfaces as private, hidden, reduced, or sensitive.
2. These features are designed to reduce unnecessary exposure of sensitive information and support privacy and safety behavior within the product, but they do not promise absolute invisibility, perfect protection, or flawless operation in every circumstance.
3. You acknowledge that location-aware functionality may depend on device settings, third-party platform services, regional data availability, network conditions, and other technical constraints outside our direct control.
We built privacy and location controls because private places and real-world context matter. They are there to reduce risk in a real way, not to make a fake promise that any app can hide everything perfectly forever.
Permissions, Notifications, and Device Access
1. Misd may request access to device permissions or capabilities you choose to enable, including notifications, camera access, photo-library access, Bluetooth-related capabilities, and location-related access where relevant to app features.
2. You may decline, disable, or later change these permissions in your device settings, but some parts of the service may then be limited or unavailable.
3. We may use permission states and related technical signals to support onboarding, account setup, app functionality, communications, fraud prevention, and service operation.
Some parts of Misd only work if your phone lets the app do certain things. If you say no, that is okay, but some features may feel limited until you turn them on.
Connections, Rankings, and Feature Signals
1. Misd may offer connection features, friendship or relationship status indicators, rankings, badges, scoring surfaces, category summaries, or similar product signals tied to activity in the service.
2. These signals may affect how content, users, or features are presented inside the app, but they do not create any guarantee of reach, visibility, status, business opportunity, or continued access to a specific product outcome.
3. We may modify, suspend, recalculate, or discontinue rankings, scores, badges, categories, and related feature logic at any time.
Things like clout, karma, and social momentum are part of the experience, not a contract for special treatment. They can change as the product changes, and we want room to improve them without locking ourselves into a rigid formula.
Safety, Reporting, and Enforcement
1. You agree to use Misd lawfully, respectfully, and in a way that does not violate our policies, the rights of others, or applicable law.
2. You may not use Misd to harass, impersonate, exploit, threaten, stalk, deceive, distribute unlawful content, evade safety measures, interfere with moderation, or otherwise undermine the normal operation of the service.
3. We may review content, investigate complaints, remove material, limit features, block interactions, suspend access, or terminate accounts where we believe conduct creates legal, product, community, or safety risk.
Misd is meant to help people connect, not to give bad actors a new place to hide. We want room to step in when something is unsafe, abusive, misleading, or clearly against the point of the app.
Third-Party Services and Links
1. Misd may rely on third-party platforms, device services, communications providers, cloud services, map providers, app stores, payment-free platform tools, or other external technologies in connection with the service.
2. The service may also include links, profile links, shared links, or content that directs users to third-party destinations not controlled by Misd.
3. We are not responsible for the availability, content, policies, or practices of third-party products, services, or destinations except as required by law.
No app lives entirely on its own, and sometimes Misd points outward too. When that happens, we want users to know they may be leaving Misd's environment and entering someone else's rules.
Communications
1. You agree that Misd may send you account, verification, onboarding, service, support, security, policy-related, and feature-operational communications using the contact information associated with your account.
2. Some communications are transactional or operational and may be necessary for the service to function properly or securely.
3. Marketing, promotional, or optional communications may be provided where permitted and may be managed through available settings or as otherwise described in our Privacy Policy.
Some messages are just part of running an account safely, like verification or important service updates. If we ever expand how we communicate for product or promotional reasons, we want that to be understandable and manageable, not sneaky.
Account Deletion, Suspension, and Restoration
1. You may stop using Misd at any time, and where a deletion or deactivation flow is offered, you may use that flow subject to any additional instructions, waiting periods, restoration windows, or verification steps we reasonably require.
2. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to Misd where reasonably necessary to enforce these terms, protect users, comply with law, maintain service integrity, or investigate misuse or abuse.
3. Sections concerning privacy, content rights, user conduct, safety, disclaimers, limitations, disputes, and other provisions intended to survive termination will remain in effect as applicable.
If someone wants to leave, we want there to be a real path for that, and if someone is using the app in a harmful way, we need room to act. Account lifecycle rules exist both for user choice and for community protection.
Service Availability and Changes
1. Misd may change, improve, pause, limit, or discontinue features, flows, eligibility rules, and product functionality at any time.
2. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free performance, permanent feature access, or compatibility in every region, device state, or operating environment.
3. We may monitor, maintain, update, and protect the service in ways reasonably necessary to support security, reliability, compliance, and product development.
Misd is still evolving, especially as we prepare for release. We want the freedom to improve what is not working without pretending the app will never change.
Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
1. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Misd is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
2. We do not warrant that Misd will always be secure, available, accurate, or free from interruptions, bugs, delays, misuse by others, or third-party platform issues.
3. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Misd and its affiliates, officers, employees, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the service.
We care a lot about making the app solid, but no real product can promise perfection. This section is here so the legal document matches reality instead of pretending technology never breaks or that other people always act well.
